does a post op shoe exist that has toe protection. ihave had surgery on three broken toes, have stitches and pins inserted which stick out about a half inch. my open toed post op shoe leaves them quite vulnerable and i have to return to work next week..the pins don't come out for another 3 weeks...i can't find what i want at local medical supply stores. i will await your reply. thanks |

Hi,I'm interested in purchasing a toe splint. I injuried my second toe by stepping to hard when i played tennis in high school. Since the, the toes won't lay striaght, it's always bent down. I"d like to know if this is what I need to make it striaght. |
A toe splint can be used to retain correct alignment of the bones during the healing process. However, if the injury has healed, a toe splint is unlike to offer you a permanent solution. If the problem with your toe is becoming an inconvenience, then it is better to see a foot specialist to diagnose the best alternatives in order to get the toe to properly aligned.

I have been told that there are assistive devices available that can alert one that a vial of insulin is empty. I am visually impaired and have found myself administering injections of air because I could not see that the source vial was empty. I do not know what they would be called or how to find them.
