I returned Item number ZATSBSR2GPTDMMD Patient Gowns RAN #137377, and I have not heard anything about replacement. I do need to get these replaced withe LArgerXL gowns. I have heard nothing at all. Please respond

Should this be moistened with normal saline if being used on dry to little drainage producing wounds Should this be covered with gauze and then ace wrapped for venous stasis ulcers?

Answer

The manufacturer's recommendation would be:

1. Follow facility’s protocol for standard precautions.
2. Use Dermagran® Wound Cleanser. Twist open cap of Wound Cleanser. Hold tip of bottle 1″ from wound bed and squeeze bottle briskly. Amount of solution will depend on size of wound and amount of debris in wound bed. Wick out excessive moisture using gauze pad.
3. Treatment (Check protocol to be followed)

   Use Dermagran® B Hydrophilic Wound Dressing

   • Remove appropriate sized Dermagran® B Hydrophilic Wound Dressingfrom package. Fluff, fold, or trim dressing to match size of wound bed.Conforming dressing to fit wound bed will decrease chance of macerationof wound margins
   • Cover with appropriate secondary dressing and secure in place.
   • Change once daily or as directed by physician.
4. Help decrease edema in lower extremity.
   • Elevate legs when patient is seated.
   • Decrease time patient stands.
5. Do not use compressive therapy if wound is infected or arterial component present.
6. If wound has heavy drainage use AlgiCell® Calcium Alginate Dressing and protocol for heavy exudate. May use Dermagran® B Hydrophilic Wound Dressing or AlgiCell® Calcium Alginate Dressing under compression therapy.
7. May use Dermagran® Ointment on peri-wound area to treat associated symptoms of Stasis Dermatitis.

There are two separate locks.  Each lock is keyed differently as the lock for the drawer is a different type as the lock for the cabinet, so they have two different keys.

I am a nursing teacher and would like to know frstly do you have a rep in Australia and secondly does this model come in black - we teach a lot Aboriginal students and it is culturally appropriate to have a dark skinned model.

Thank you for your interest.  We do not currently have any representation in Australia, however we have sold our nursing manikins to organizations throughout Australia and dozens of other countries.

Regrettably, our adult manikin line is fairly limited to light skinned manikins.  We do offer alternative skin tones in our baby models.
