How to clean caster on stretcher gurneys

If you have hair and dirt build up around the axle of the casters, you can pull the excess material out with a pair of tweezers or long nose pliers.  You can also use a small wire brush and mild household cleaner to remove impacted dirt.  Then lubricate with medium grade oil and you should be good to-go.

Curious if this would work to help left a person that has fallen. My mother who is 75 and 5 tall is having to lift my father when he falls. He has Alzheimer and forgets that he is too weak to walk, so sometimes he just falls out of his chair or bed. She is too small to really lift him.

Thank you for your inquiry.  Without going into technical details; most patient lifts (hoyer lifts) are approximately the same height, give or take a few inches.  The base design and width will vary depending on the accessibility to the patients bed and patients weight.  Hoyer/ patient lifts are designed to enable the safe lifting and short distance transportation of patents from standard hospital beds and most at-home beds.  Please let us know if you have any follow up questions.
