Does this chair go to almost a standing position? Would it be suitable to sleep? My mom is coming out of rehab and needs a good reclining chair to sleep and bring her all the way down so she can get up. She refuses to sleep in her bed and was sleeping on a couch before having a back fracture.

Thank you for the inquiry. Yes, the chair goes almost to a standing position.  Many patients do sleep in their chairs.  Make sure you order the soft cloth instead of the vinyl covering.

If you require a solid attachement to the peddle, we would recommend using a velcro strap for additional support.  Velcro straps would be available in places such as Walmart, Target and Lowes.
