Question
Can you tell me if this mattress will fit a VA mechanical bed? Right now we have a Mattress we purchased from RC WIley that is too thick for my Dad to be able to use the handrails easily. IS this the one we will want and need - Dad is 87 years old and I worry about pressure on feet

Answer

Essentially, this is the same mattress in different lengths.  One of the design aspect of this product is that the middle layer of foot section has precision channel cut foam which provides additional pressure reduction in heel area.  Please keep in mind that this is probably the same height as your current mattress, so the stock-hand situation may still persist.  Pressure Reducing Foam Mattress , item# 3-0056 (36in x 6in x 84in long)

Question
I am Jeff Francis, and besides being a Captain at a local Police Department and a Licensed EMT in the State of Tennessee, I also teach outdoor Leadership/Education classes at two local Christian Universities. I was wondering if you ever make donations of backboards and straps to nonprofits such as Tennessee Temple Univeristy, or Southern Adventist University. I currently have about 20 students and facilitate outdoor activities both for credit and for weekened recreation. These include multi day canoe trips, backpacking, hiking, rappelling, rockclimbing and caving trips. Fortunately we have never had a serious injury. Thank you for your consideration in this request. Question
My hospital bed is all electric. When it was given to me I was told that it would go up and down etc. and would vibrate. I plug this bed in and nothing happens. I was told that one remote control worked and the second one did not for unknown reasons. The control that is attached to the bed does nothing but when I press ON something is humming. Is this unit dead or is there something that I can fix, a plug is not securely connected, a wire is pinched, a fuze needs to be replaced, etc. Any help you can provide me will be greatly appreciated.

Answer

Dear Mr. Bross:

Thank you for your inquiry.  We would recommend that you contact the manufacturer regarding the issue with the functinality of the electric bed.  We would certainly advise you against tinkering with the unit until after you had a chance to speak with their Technical Support.  Manufacturer name or model is often times adhered to the frame of the bed.

Question
Hi, I am the head of a biosafety laboratory where we work with HIV and HCV. I am interested in the gown that you are selling. Do you have any information regarding the protection from blood born pathogens? Thank you Marielle

Answer
Unfortunatley, this gown, being fabric reinforced, is not completely impervious.  We would recommend an impervious gown for this type of environment.  Our  Prevention Breathable Microporous Gown would be the best suited disposable gown for this environment.  Additional information can be found on the link above to the product page.

Question
Hi, My husband Chi Chang David Lin, who is a Physiatrist Rehab Medicine at New York Cornell Medical Center is going to speak at my daughters pre K class about his career sometime in late April. Like a show and tell. He's gonna bring some rehabilitation equipment for the kids to play with and look at borrrowed from Cornell. Thought it would be better if he could hand out some medical freebies to the kids that he will be talking to. There will be a total of 18 kids and 2 teachers. Does coloplast have anything like medical equipment they can give for free for 5 yr olds? Thought I would take a chance to ask. Was thinking in the terms of disposible stethoscopes, or disposible surgical mask and gowns, cheap reflex hammers, etc.. anything that would be medical for the kids to take home and play with. Thank you for your time and consideration. My address is: 91-17 71 Rd Forest Hills, NY, 11375 718-263-3762 -Annie Siu

Answer

 Dear Ms. Siu:
