I have a 21 year old son with Autism. He is 6'2 tall and weighs about 230lbs. He is very hard on beds, mattresses and box springs. I am looking for a heavy duty bed, that can withstand his bouncing, but it does not need to have electric capability necessarily. He doesn't have phisical needs per se, he just doesn't know he isn't a seven year old.

I have multiple back problems, including multiple herniated discs, severe spinal stenosis, spinal arthritis, and scoliosis--which has been caused by my arthritis. As you can imagine, I am in constant pain. I purchased an adjustable bed (size 36 X 80 or twin XL) in 2002, but I am at the point where the foam mattress on that bed has become uncomfortable. I have been told by the manufacturer that a hospital bed mattress should work as long as it is the same size, but am confused as to which type of mattress I should be looking at. Which type of mattress do you recommend?
