I have a 1.3cm long x .5cm wide ulcer/divot under my left arm. Should I put some kind of triple antibiotic on before I apply the DuoDERM CGF?Approximately how long will something this small take to heal?Thanks,Lee

Lee,

It is recommended, along with thoroughly cleaning the wound, that you use the Skin-Prep Protective Dressing before applying the DuoDERM CGF Dressing.  The dressing will generally stay on up to 7 days. 

Unfortunately, we cannot provide you a healing time; however with proper care and routine dressing changes, the wound should heal in a timely manner.

I'm 63 and have had chronic neck pain for 18 months since falling from a ladder. Nothing found medically except a possible narrowing between c6 & c7 which could be from natural aging process. Can I sleep on this product at night?Thanks

This pillow is good for resting.  For a full night sleep you may wish to consider one of the following alternatives.  Keep in mind, that unless you are currently using a therapeutic or cervical support pillow, it may take several nights for you to get used to sleeping on one.

The minimum height for the Deluxe Institutional Hospital Bed is 14" starting fabric height, which means the bed frame surface height at the lowest point is 14".  Most mattresses are either 5, 6 or 9 inches in height which will make the lowest sleeping surface with a 5" is 19", 6" is 20" and 9" is 23".

A Doppler ultrasound employes sound waves to monitor blood as it flows in a blood vessel. This allows physicians to evaluate blood flow through the major arteries and veins of the arms, legs, and neck. The test can show blocked or reduced blood flow through narrowing in the major arteries of the neck that could cause a stroke. It also can reveal blood clots in leg veins (deep vein thrombosis, or DVT) that could break loose and block blood flow to the lungs (pulmonary embolism). See an illustration of a stroke and an embolus. During pregnancy, Doppler ultrasound may be used to look at blood flow in an unborn baby (fetus) to check the health of the fetus.
