Question
We've had a couple of fires recently that were started near electric wheelchairs. How best to prevent such fires, such as keep them away from so forth and so on.
Answer
Dear Tom Marshall,
Thank you for the inquiry. I am unclear to what you are asking, but I think what you might be getting at is the motor overheating? If so, always check the weight capacity and avoid excessive usage of the wheelchair within a short time frame.

Question
when i turn my machine on and set the pulse rate the screen goes blank and the power lite is on but the machine is still on is there any explanition you can give me for this
Answer
Dear Tony,
Thank you for the inquiry. Sounds like you needs a Date / Time battery in the unit. It is a 3V lithium battery. If this does not fix the problem you will have to send it in for service. Could be the piggy back Spo2 board in the unit, the board has come loose from the mating mother board, which is a common problem.

Question
I have a Resmed Autospirit with heated humidifier that has been sitting in my closet. I only used it for a couple of months and then decided to undergo surgery. I did not want to get rid of it until I saw the results of the surgery. I now am ready to get rid of it. Is there a market for used CPAPs? I know it cost a bundle and I hate to just see it go to waste. Any suggestions? I live in Houston, Texas.
Answer
Dear Ticia:
There is not much of a retail market for used CPAPs. You may still be able to sell the unit to a company specializing respiratory services (look up in the local yellow pages) or try eBay.com.

Question
I am looking for an Ohmeda 3700 pulse oximeter with the probe. I also need the 2226489 probe adapter. Are these available and what would my cost be. In addition, can you calibrate these and what would that cost be. thank you
Answer
Dear Cecile Allen,
Thank you for the inquiry. I have great news, we do have the Ohmeda 3700 pulse oximeter with probe for $525. The part number (2226489) is invalid or might be an Oxylead cable which we sell for $150. I think it may be a Datex item number. Please advise.

Question
I am looking to purchase a Nelcor N200 pulse oximeter with probe. I also am looking for pn# 2510752 (probe simulation jig). Please advise to pricing and availability. Also if you can calibrate these unit and that cost.
Answer
Dear Cecile Allen,
We do have the Nellcor N200 in stock ready to ship. It lists price for $750, but we are selling it for $650 with a one year warranty. The PN#251075 (probe simulation jig) sounds as if you are going to be testing pulse oximeters. We have a pocket tester, SRC-2 which test the alarms on pulse oximeter, it sells for $425, but it is on sale for $350. If you are testing pulse oximeters, please let me recommend www.clinicaldynamics.com See the options for the "smart sat", it is a universal tester. If you are interested, we also sell those units. Call me for pricing.

HiI have a wood burning stove. I bought a chord of wood that was delivered and it looks ruined to me. It has mold, fungus, dry rot, and even termites. They refuse to give me my money back, and I don't think it is safe to put this low quality wood into my new wood burning stove. Please let me know the facts about this type of wood and the damage it could do to my health and the stove, or is the seller right? That it is okay? I find that hard to believe! Please help!Yvonne
