Thank you for your inquiry.  The height can be adjusted with foot paddle. The bracket for the monitor can actually be removed by unscrewing through bolts which hold it in place and allowing for the use of a laptop.

Thank you for your inquiry.  Hand exercisers are color rated for the amount of squeezing pressure you would need to apply.  It would be hard to remotely determine your starting point, so you may wish to start with 5 lbs and determine if you need scale up or down.  Please let us know if you have any questions..
